Until February 28, 2025, control authorities will refrain from penalizing road carriers for failing to replace tachographs, according to information provided by the Ministry of Infrastructure. This decision was made by the European Commission, which responded favorably to proposals and initiatives submitted by Poland, a country with the largest fleet in international transport.

“I am pleased that Poland’s initiative to exempt drivers and road carriers from penalties for not replacing tachographs has been understood by the European Commission. Although we requested a significantly longer period of leniency from control authorities in this matter, even the additional two-month transition period provides an opportunity for those carriers who have not yet adapted to the new requirements. This solution is particularly important for the Polish transport sector, which has the largest vehicle fleet in Europe,” said Deputy Minister Stanisław Bukowiec.
